Hi there, Virginia! Welcome to planDisney! I can see that we are just one day out from your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, so let's jump right into your question!
I have some good news for you! While
tickets to the Disneyland Resort are
non-transferable, they are not officially assigned until they are used that very first time to swipe into Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. At this point, the Cast Member will take a photo of the Guest using the ticket and it is then officially assigned to that person. Tickets purchased this year do not expire until December 30, 2023 for single-day tickets and January 12, 2024 for multi-day tickets, so the ticket should still be valid for use. To link the ticket to your account, just open up the
Disneyland mobile app and head to the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Select "Tickets and Passes" and tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner. You'll want to head into "Link Tickets & Passes" where you will either manually enter the ticket confirmation number or scan the barcode directly from your friend.
Before you head to the parks, you will need to make a
theme park reservation, which is where our magic carpet might hit a snag on the way. I took a look at the
calendar, and currently, there is no availability for One Park Per Day or Park Hopper tickets for tomorrow, likely because Disneyland is hosting the
D23 Expo this weekend. I would encourage you to continue refreshing the calendar throughout the day. Guests are always changing their plans and the calendar updates live to these modifications, so reservations can open up! One other thing to keep in mind is that if you are holding a single-day ticket, it will be assigned a tier. Tiers are based on the time of the year and the day of the week, where tier 1 has the most block-out dates and tier 6 has the least block-out dates. If you are trying to change the reservation of a ticket that is in a lower tier to the one assigned to September 11th, you will need to go to the Main Entrance Ticket Booth in person to upgrade it to a higher tier. Once you have linked your ticket to your app, it should display the tier along with the barcode. Looking at the
ticket tier breakdown, it seems that September 11th will require a tier 3 ticket or higher. If you are holding a tier 3, 4, 5, or 6 ticket, you should have no issues making a theme park reservation for tomorrow if one opens up!
Virginia, I am sending some pixie dust your way in the hopes that the reservation calendar opens up for you! I know this was a lot to take in, so if you find yourself needing any more clarity, feel free to reach back out to us here at
planDisney or contact the
Guest Services team directly.
Never stop dreaming,
Tara
