We have a ticket from Oct 22 in our sons name—he canceled due to autism making it impossible at that time. Can we transfer it to us for our trip in May or is it gone forever?

Hello there, Meghan! We are so glad you stopped by planDisney to ask us a question.

I'm sorry to hear that your son wasn't able to attend his planned trip to Disneyland Resort. That sure is a bummer! I do have good news to share with you that you should be able to change the name on the ticket as long as it's a wholly, unused ticket. The person who purchased the tickets on their account will just need to call Guest Services or chat on the Disneyland app with a Cast Member to request this change.

I do want to make you aware that if the trip and ticket are from last October, in 2021, the ticket will most likely be expiring in December 2022. I can't be certain though since I don't have the ticket information. Per the eTicket Terms and Conditions, as long as the ticket is wholly unused you will be able to use the purchase price of the expired ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket of equal or greater value.

Reservations just recently opened for Disneyland Resort Hotels and packages for 2023, so you can start planning your visit now!

Meghan, I hope this information is all good news for your next visit. Be sure to stop back by again if you have any other questions!

Well hello friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mama and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. We love that we are close enough to Disneyland Resort to make a last-minute trip to see the Mouse quite frequently. You'll find us in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can fit in! I love helping my friends plan memorable trips to Disneyland Resort and can't wait to help you too! Learn More About Carrie
