If we have a ticket for a member of our party who is no longer going, does her ticket expire if it’s not scanned in to the park?

    Hi, Lindsay!

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You have asked a great question, so let's take a closer look at the details of your ticket purchase.

When Guests purchase Theme Park Tickets for Walt Disney World, that purchase is nonrefundable. However, if you scroll to the bottom of the Theme Park Ticket page, you'll see that "After expiration date, the price paid for a wholly unused ticket can be applied to the purchase of a new ticket with an equal or higher price."

I contacted Walt Disney World to see how long you would be able to apply that purchase price to the cost of a new ticket and was told that while the ticket expires, the cost of that ticket does not. There is no time limit to apply that purchase price to the cost of a new ticket. Woo hoo!

In short, that member of the party can use that payment at a future date, whenever the time is right for them to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Happy planning, Lindsay! Send us more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
