Thx Tanja! Love your response...we're gonna go for POR! Can u tell me the must do charcter meals for your absolute fave restaurants, specifically table service that need reservd? We have a 5 year old boy and twin 4 year old girls! Thanks for your wisdom!

    Hi Allison!

I'm glad you made your decision.  I think it's a great choice!  Your family will love Port Orleans, and your kids will love enjoying some character meals while at Disney.  One of my boys' favorite restaurants is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort.  This is "the" quintessential character meal at Disney in my opinion, and a "must do" if you ask me!  What could be better than enjoying dinner from a huge all-you-care-to-eat buffet while Mickey and his pals make the rounds?  There is also a very popular dessert buffet that includes make-your-own sundaes.  We also like the Garden Grille at the Land Pavillion at Epcot, which features Farmer Mickey and Chip n' Dale.  This is a sit-down meal that is served family-style, and serves some of the freshest food at Disney.  (Much of the produce is harvested from the Living with the Land attraction in the same building!)  If your girls love princesses, I would also consider Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.  This buffet features some wonderful, unique offerings (don't worry, there are plenty of choices for picky eaters too), including cold strawberry soup.  Yum!  Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Drizella and Anastasia entertain the crowd while they dine.

I would absolutely recommend making advanced dining reservations for any character meals you most want to dine at, as they are quite popular, and tend to be fully booked.  You can call 1-407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) up to 180 days before you arrive to hold your spot.

I'm so glad you will be able to enjoy some of Disney's wonderful restaurants.  Have a magical trip!

    Tanya
