Hi Sherri,
Thanks so much for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
'Ohana and
Kona Cafe, both located at Disney's Polynesian Resort, are great restaurants. Both offer a mix of traditional American and Polynesian-inspired fare. 'Ohana features a character breakfast where the food is served in a family-style all-you-care-to-eat manner. This service allows you to enjoy as much food as you like simply by asking your server to bring you more. Kona Cafe has delicious food but is a la carte, and is not a character breakfast.
Since you are looking for breakfast for hearty eaters, I recommend either 'Ohana or Tusker House as they offer all-you-care-to-eat. Which of those you choose will depend on a few factors. First, do you have theme park admission? Tusker House will require theme park admission as it is inside of Disney's Animal Kingdom. 'Ohana will not as it is at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Next, which characters do you think your children will enjoy the most? At Tusker House they are likely to see Donald and Daisy Duck in their safari gear, whereas at 'Ohana they are likely to see Lilo and Stitch in Polynesian attire. Finally, where does the cuisine appeal to you most? You can find menus for Walt Disney World restaurants by visiting allears.net. From the homepage, click "dining" and then look to the left of the screen for "The Menus."
I suggest eating at 7:00 a.m., or as early as possible. The restaurants will be less crowded. An early dining time will also let you get your day started early. Either way, be sure to make those reservations soon! Dining at character meals for larger groups tends to book up quickly.
Thanks for visiting us again, Sherri! Be sure to come back if you have any more questions.
