Thx for answering my previous Q:! Pretty sure we'll go mid Oct. '14, & we'll save the holiday decorations for another visit!! Is MNSSHP worth the extra $$? Would be over $300 for us (2 A, 3 C). Seems a lot for dressing up, candy, parades, etc. Thanks

Happy to help you again Karen! The holiday decorations are wonderful but if you are dedicating a trip just for that then I strongly suggest early December when everything is up and everything is in place such as the Candlelight Processional.  Mid October has always been one of our target times for a Disney visit. There is always something to see and do especially with the great Food and Wine Festival taking place in Epcot.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a lot of fun and my favorite of the two special event parties in the Magic Kingdom. It is hard to rationalize the cost if celebrating Halloween isn't high on your list. The guests who choose to dress up and get into the spirit seem to have the most fun and we have always tried to do family costumes versus individual. This year we are dressing as footballs and a referee with my grandson as the football player. We certainly don't go for the candy but instead for the fun. The attraction lines tend to be smaller during the parties and the parade is my favorite.

If you don't think your children will last more then a couple of hours in the park then this isn't the ticket for you to buy. To really get the most out of it I say dress up and stay to the end or close to the end. Start with dinner in the park around 5/5:30pm so you are ready to start playing at opening time of 7pm. Your special event ticket will get you in early for dinner. If none of this interests you then visit during the daytime hours and find something else to keep the clan happy that evening. There is so much to choose from at Disney from a movie at the AMC theater to bowling at Splitsville in Downtown Disney. Or just relax and enjoy your resort pool for an evening swim. You know your children best and what they will enjoy so once you make your decision don't look back. There is plenty of magic to go around for all!
