Will Thunder Mountain Railroad be open again the first week of December in Disneyland?

Howdy and welcome to planDisney, Paula. We are mighty glad that you moseyed on over to ask this question and I'm chomping at the bit to help out.

I checked the Hours & Events Calendar and noticed that Big Thunder Mountain will be closed for refurbishment beginning November 18th. While no announcement has been made about when it might reopen, you can continue to check the calendar and review the list of attractions that are closed for refurbishment. The calendar is currently up to date through the end of November, so I imagine we'll see information for your visit dates soon. You can also find this information in the Disneyland app when tapping "All Hours" from the home screen and then selecting your visit date. Scroll down to find the list of attractions that are closed for refurbishment.

You will be visiting during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort and there will be no shortage of holly jolly fun. This is one of my favorite times of the year to visit. I love seeing the resort decked out in its holiday best and there's something so magical about walking under all of the twinkling lights on Main Street, U.S.A. Be sure to add a Mickey Gingerbread cookie to your must-eat list and keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for additional details on all of the seasonal holiday eats and treats.

Speaking of food, I noticed that you asked about dining reservations for Goofy's Kitchen during your visit and it looks like we recently got an update. Goofy and his pals will be cooking up something very merry to celebrate the winter holidays from November 19th through January 2nd. Reservations for these dates will open on October 24th, so get those fast fingers ready!

Paula, while I wish I had a better answer to share, I hope the information I provided is still helpful. I'll be sending all of the pixie dust your way in the hopes that you will get to enjoy the "wildest ride in the wilderness" during your visit. Let us know if there's anything else that we can help with. Here's wishing you a most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
