Is Thunder Mountain ok for a 5 year old to ride? Also, my Mom will want in line with us but doesn't want to ride. Can she do that?

    Hi Lora!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of my favourite attractions at Magic Kingdom park.

There are no age restrictions, but there are height restrictions - for this attraction you have to be 40 inches (102 cm) or taller.  If your five-year-old is tall enough, you will be able to catch sight of the railroad, and you can then judge if it is the type of experience suitable for them.

Your Mom will be able to wait in line with you - when you reach the cast member who is seating everyone in the train, tell them your Mom wishes to exit without riding.  You will then be able to meet up with her after the ride.

If you have any other questions please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan you magical vacation!
