Like you, I’m so excited for
Big Thunder Mountain and
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin to reopen this year! Those are two of my favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom, and they’ve been missed. I can’t wait to see the
updates made to those attractions. I’m sure they’ll be great!
At this time, these attractions are scheduled to reopen in Spring 2026; however, no official reopening date has been announced. For updated information, I’d keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog, as well as the specific pages for those attractions on Disney World’s website. You can also see a list of attractions that will be closed for refurbishment when looking at the
Hours & Events Calendar, so that can give you an idea of what to expect during your trip.
In addition to those attractions reopening this year, there were a couple of new experiences that debuted this past year at Magic Kingdom. And my family has loved them! I highly recommend checking them out during your upcoming trip.
First, the nighttime
Disney Starlight parade debuted. This was so special to watch with my boys. The entire parade is gorgeous! It’s currently shown 1-2 times per night, and you can find the showtimes on the Hours & Events Calendar.
Next, the
Beak and Barrel opened. This is a Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired lounge, and not only is it super immersive, but the food and drinks are delicious! If this is a high priority for you, make sure to book advanced reservations (pending availability), as this has been a very popular offering.
