I would like to take my three year old daughter to Disneyland. Unfortunately it will be just the two of us going and I would require renting an ECV due to my disability.  Will she be allowed to sit in my lap ?

Hi there, Kara! Thanks so much for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I spoke with a Cast Member about the rules for ECV rentals at the Disneyland Resort. I was informed that, due to safety concerns, they do not permit anyone to ride on the lap of someone operating an ECV. ECVs are designed for a single rider.

Your daughter would only be able to walk alongside you in the ECV. Having just traveled to the parks with my own 3-year-old daughter, I have to admit that would make me a bit uneasy. If it is at all possible for you to bring along another adult, I would highly recommend that instead. The other adult could push your daughter in a stroller while you navigate the parks in the ECV and you could all get around safely and efficiently. I also find that having an extra set of hands is extremely helpful when traveling to the Disneyland Resort with a preschooler. My husband and I "tag team" helping our daughter in and out of attraction vehicles, helping her in the restroom, and we switch off grabbing food and FASTPASS tickets throughout the day.

I hope this information is helpful. Please stop by again with any other questions you may have!
