Hello, I have three reservations for EPCOT on January 1, 2025 (2 passes from an employee and one AAA tix). Is that a good day (say decorations will be coming down) or should I try to change the reservations to Dec 29th or 30th? If so, how would I do that?

    Hello Lisa!

Welcome to planDisney! The holiday decorations at Walt Disney World Resort are one of the reasons why I love visiting this time of year! I love how the whole Park transforms almost overnight from Halloween to Holidays. It truly does feel like magic.

These decorations, which appear to be up almost overnight, disappear just as quickly. However, they tend to stay up for the first week of January and disappear by Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This year's marathon starts on January 8, 2025, so I expect all of the tinsel, twinkling lights, and evergreen wreaths to be gone by then. Your arrival on January 1, 2025, should be fine for enjoying the decorations.

Since your tickets need a theme park reservation, if you wish to move your visit to EPCOT to earlier in the week know that there are reservations still available but it could fill up quickly. The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays does end on December 30, 2024, so if you want a chance to get a final taste at the Holiday Kitchens and listen to the Holiday Storytellers I would consider changing your reservation to December 30, 2024, to get maximum holiday cheer. Make sure to check out the Mele Kalikimaka Holiday Kitchen which has the festive and adult beverage called the Melon Breeze which has DOLE pineapple juice, lime juice, melon liqueur, and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. It's festive and tropical!

    I hope you have a jolly-filled time!

    Happy Planning!
