Three questions! If we have reservations for a restaurant at 8:40 inside the park and the park closes at 8:30 what do we do? Can we just eat dessert and not a meal? Also, how long do we have to cancel restaurant reservations before we get charged?

Hello Lorrain!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

During my many Walt Disney World Resort Dining Experiences, I have dealt with each of the elements of your inquiry at one time or another.

When a Walt Disney World Theme Park reaches it's closing time, Guests are no longer able to queue for attractions, stores will close and there will be no further entertainment scheduled. At that time, when most Guests head toward the exits, your party should make their way to the Dining Location for your scheduled Advanced Dining Reservations and Check-In with a Cast Member at the location.

Once you are seated at a Walt Disney World Resort Dining Location, what you order is completely up to you. If you want to only order dessert, then go right ahead. Advanced Dining Reservations for most Dining Locations do not require you to order a full meal.

Please note that some Character Dining Experiences, Dinner Shows and Signature Dining Locations with set menus will charge a set fee when you book your Advanced Dining Reservations, so be sure to read carefully when your book your Reservations.

Each restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort maintains its own cancellation policy, which you should confirm when booking Advanced Dining Reservations online(it is also outlined in your email confirmation) or by contacting a Cast Member at (407)939-3463.

    Bon Appétit!
