Ahoy, Deanna!
I know you must be excited to have your daughter home from college, and even more excited to have a Disney Cruise on the horizon! It's only a matter of days before you'll be walking on to the ship and sailing away with Captain Mickey and his crew.
No worries if your daughter left her dresses at school, she will be fine to wear jeans or leggings to dinner. Most nights onboard a Disney Cruise are considered "cruise casual", which means no swimsuits, tank tops or casual shorts. Dressy shorts, jeans and leggings will be fine.
On a three-night cruise, here's what you can expect as far as the dress code for dinner:
One cruise casual night
One pirate or tropical night (deck party) - make sure to pack your favorite pirate gear for this swashbuckling good time on the high seas!
One "optional dress-up night" - jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women. Since this dress-up night is optional, there will be cruisers that decide not to dress up for dinner. On the other hand, you'll see some guests that choose to put on their Sunday best! It's a great opportunity for some family photo ops before dinner.
The good news is, if you decide you do want to participate in "dress-up night", you still have time to shop before your sail date. Think of the after-Christmas sales - you might find some great deals!
I hope this helps with your planning and packing. Please come back and visit us here at the Moms Panel if you have more questions before you sail.
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
