Hi! If my three kids and I are using rider swap for a ride, does an adult need to stay with non-riders while the other group rides, or can an older child wait with them? My teenage daughter and I would take turns waiting with my 7yo old twins, if possible.

    Hi Jessica,

Thank you so much for coming to planDisney with your question! I love that you are considering the best way to make the most of your Walt Disney World days. Using Rider Switch Service will allow all of the guests who want to experience an attraction and who meet the height requirement for the attraction to do so. This works by allowing guests in a party to take turns experiencing the attraction and caring for other members of the party.

While an age requirement to watch younger members of the party is not explicitly spelled out in the Walt Disney World Rules and Regulations, that website does indicate that guests who are under 14 years old must be with a guest who is 14 years or older while in a theme park. I would think that you could extend this rule to waiting with your twins while doing Rider Switch, so the twins should be fine waiting with your teenage daughter.

Be sure to check out the special page for planning a Walt Disney World vacation with tweens and teens for exciting ideas for your daughter while on your vacation!

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Jessica, and that you have a great time planning your Walt Disney World vacation. Please feel free to come back to planDisney with any further questions you may have!
