My three kids really like Robin Hood. We will be visiting Disney World for the first time in April and would like to know if there is any merchandise or characters to meet. Or if we can find any merchandise online before the trip.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dolly!

Ooh-de-lally, ooh-de-lally! How exciting that you’re planning a spring visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with your family. And I love that your Mouseketeers are Robin Hood fans – such a fun movie!

The Robin Hood characters are off doing noble deeds in the forest, and are rarely seen at the Walt Disney World Resort. You might catch a glimpse of Robin Hood on the steamboat at the end of Fantasmic!, but it’s not guaranteed, and these characters are part of Mickey’s dream, so therefore aren’t available to meet Guests.

I recommend checking with a Cast Member when you arrive to see if they’ve spotted any Robin Hood characters lately. You can also use the My Disney Experience Mobile app to search for characters in the theme parks; navigate to the app’s map, and change the top drop-down to “Characters.” Tap the Mickey head icon to see which character is meeting in that location, and the times they’re available. Sometimes, characters do appear in the theme parks without any notice, but this is what we call “pixie dust” - it can’t ever be predicted!

Dolly, I used the My Disney Experience mobile app’s “Shop Merchandise” feature, and currently, I only see one piece of Robin Hood merchandise – a very cute Christmas ornament. Over on ShopDisney, a search for Robin Hood is currently only finding DVDs of the movies. Keep checking, because new merchandise arrives every day. You may also want to check Etsy and online smaller shops that sell theme park specific merchandise and clothing, because I’ve seen many cute Robin Hood t-shirts and even Minnie Mouse ear headbands in Robin Hood styles.

I’m sending you a golden arrow dipped in pixie dust in the hopes that you’ll find some Robin Hood merchandise for your visit, Dolly! Keep reading the Disney Parks Blog, as they make announcements about new merchandise, experiences, and tasty treats in the Disney Parks. And, speaking of tasty treats, when you’re visiting Magic Kingdom Park, make sure to stop by The Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland. This snack stand is named after our friend Friar Tuck, and they sell delicious loaded tater tots, coffee, and a refreshing lemonade slushy.

Wishing you and your band of merry friends a magical vacation,
    Robyn
