Hey there, Yvonne! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great vacation planning question. I love chatting Disney with my pals, pal!
Eek! In just one month, you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth, ready to begin your magical family adventure. How exciting! I LOVE big family vacations to Walt Disney World Resort while staying in a
Disney Vacation Club Villa. It's so fun to excitedly have coffee and breakfast together in the kitchen before heading to the theme parks and to play board games and laugh about the memories that were made that day at the end of the night. I'm SO excited for you to make such magical memories with your family soon, and I'm thrilled to answer your question today.
As the sole planner of our large family vacations, it is definitely possible to plan the most magical vacation while using just one
My Disney Experience account. As long as every Guest is on your Family & Friends List and appropriately linked to the proper Resort reservation and ticket, their MagicBand should work for room entry, as well as Lightning Lane entrances and the
Disability Access Service (DAS). One My Disney Experience account can make
Genie+ Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane selections for up to 12 Guests, so, if there are 12 or fewer Guests in your travel party, you should be good to go!
While it is possible to plan and enjoy your Disney vacation with just one My Disney Experience account, I do think it's a good idea for each of your children to get a My Disney Experience account and download the My Disney Experience app to help manage the plans for their families. In my experience, while we do like to spend time together on our family vacations, everyone has different must-dos, and we do end up splitting up some of the time. Since the My Disney Experience app is used for so much throughout your park day, such as checking attraction wait times,
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering,
Merchandise Mobile Checkout, Genie+ Lightning Lane selections, and so much more, I think it's a good idea for each family to have easy access to the app. That way, even if you do end up staying together all of the time, you won't be in charge of doing everything for everyone, and you'll have more time to enjoy your day and your family.
No MagicBands? Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" Just log in to your My Disney Experience app and download your travel party's
Disney MagicMobile Passes to your smartphone's digital wallet by following the simple instructions under the Disney MagicMobile tile. Then, tap "Select Passes to Share" to share the passes with your children. Then, they can add the Passes to their smartphones' digital wallets to use the Passes for theme park entry and more with just a swipe of their phones! How cool is that?!
I hope this was helpful, Yvonne, and I hope you and your family have the most magical and memorable upcoming family vacation! Please stop by any time with any planning or DVC questions you may have. You've got a friend in me!
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
