Heya, hiya, Glen! A big, cheerful welcome to planDisney—I’m so glad you stopped by!
From rope drop to fireworks, there’s so much to see and do at the Disneyland Resort. With three days of magic ahead, it makes perfect sense to think about how to maximize your time and make each day feel a little different. That’s where
Lightning Lane Premier Pass comes in—it can turn one of your park days into an extra-efficient adventure, helping you experience more
attractions while still leaving plenty of room for
snacks,
shows, and those unforgettable Disney details.
The great news is that yes, Lightning Lane Premier Pass can be added for just one day of your multi-day ticket (subject to availability, of course!). Since the pass is purchased on a daily basis, you can sprinkle it onto whichever park day you’d like—whether that’s your first morning to set the tone for your visit or a big finale day before heading home. Some of my family members used Lightning Lane Premier Pass this past summer, and they couldn’t stop talking about how it helped them fit so much more into their day. They zipped from classics like
Matterhorn Bobsleds to thrills like
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, all while keeping their plans flexible. They said it really felt like a game-changer for maximizing Disney time.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass can be purchased in the
Disneyland mobile app as early as seven days before your park visit date. Sales typically begin at 7:00 AM Pacific Time, but since your trip is in January, I’d recommend checking the
Lightning Lane Premier Pass page as your visit gets closer just in case there are any updates to the timing. Quantities are limited each day, so it’s best to act quickly once sales open. To purchase, simply open the Disneyland app, tap the menu (☰) button on the bottom right, choose “Lightning Lane Passes,” and select “Purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass” to choose your date(s).
Another thing to keep in mind is that Lightning Lane Premier Pass isn’t just about shorter wait times. It also comes with special
Disney PhotoPass perks, like unlimited digital downloads of your photos from that day and access to playful
PhotoPass Lenses in the app. It’s a wonderful way to capture moments—whether that’s a lightsaber pose in front of
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or an iconic shot with
Sleeping Beauty Castle glowing behind you.
So yes, Glen, you can absolutely add Lightning Lane Premier Pass to just one day of your multi-day trip if that’s what works best for you. It’s a flexible upgrade that can turn a park day into an extra-special Disney memory-maker. I hope your visit is filled with favorite attractions, delicious treats, plenty of photos, and all the magic you can pack in.
See ya real soon!
