I would like to take my three children to Disney at Christmastime this year. They will be 10, 7, and 4. How many days would you suggest we stay to get the best experience? What are you thoughts on the Park Hopper passes?

    Hi Sheila,

Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel! When it comes to getting the best value from our Walt Disney World vacation, we always stay at least 4 or 5 days. Truth be told, a whole week at the Happiest Place on Earth wouldn't be too shabby either. Our family loves to have at least one day dedicated to each park, as well as a dedicated "down day" when we can re-visit our favorite attractions,or sit by the pool at the resort and reflect on the awesome time we had during our vacation. I've found that with younger kids, a down day or non-scheduled day helps them prepare to leave Walt Disney World, and helps the whole family bond even more.

We love to add the Park Hopper option to our theme park tickets. Like I said earlier, we tend to use them on our "down day" to hop from park to park, ride our favorite attractions, and see our favorite shows again. On the days when we are dedicating one day to a park, we may use them to get to dinner reservations within another park. If my daughter needs a nap, I'll take her back to the resort and my son and husband may use the hopper to go to another park, and ride the attractions that she wasn't able to ride. Being a frugal family, we tend to make sure we are getting our money's worth with every detail of our Disney vacation, and this detail is something we have never regretted.

I hope that answered your question, Sheila. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask us anytime.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
