Thoughts on Poly? Only stayed at the contemp, but looking for something new. Son has autism so ease to the MK is important. Five of us so space is also important. My son loves stich but I don’t know besides the restaurant how much he’s incorporated in.

    Hi Tara!

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is our absolute favorite! There’s something truly magical about the ambiance—it’s calming and makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical paradise. As a family of five with a child with special needs, I completely understand how crucial ease of access is, and this resort delivers. The proximity to Magic Kingdom Park is fantastic—it’s just a short and convenient monorail ride away. We’ve also found the bus service to be reliable and efficient when heading to the other Theme Parks and Disney’s Water Parks.

The rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are perfect for a family of five. They’re spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax after a long day in the parks. The rooms come with two queen beds and a daybed, which comfortably accommodates five guests without feeling cramped.

The bathroom setup is a major plus, especially for families. There’s a split bathroom design, with one side offering a shower and sink, and the other a bathtub and another sink. This layout makes it so much easier to get everyone ready in the mornings or for bed at night—two people can use the space at the same time, which really cuts down on waiting.

Overall, the rooms at the Polynesian are designed with families in mind, offering comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury that makes your stay even more enjoyable.

Your son will love the Stitch touches throughout the resort. Beyond the beloved ‘Ohana Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch, you’ll spot some subtle nods to Stitch in the resort’s design, especially in the Polynesian décor and artwork. And if you can't snag a reservation for ‘Ohana in advance, don’t worry! Pro tip: Use the My Disney Experience app to check for walk-up availability—it often pops up!

One of the hidden gems of the Polynesian is the beach. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind, especially if your son needs a quiet break. It’s also a perfect spot to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks, offering a serene and relaxing end to your day.
