I thought I read that the annual pass reservation system is going away and we don’t have to make reservations in 2026. Is this true? We purchasr the DVC pass

Hi Elizabeth and welcome home! If you’re like me, then I’m sure you can’t wait for your next visit to Walt Disney World the second you make your Disney Vacation Club villa reservation! As of now, while date-based tickets no longer require you to make theme park reservations, Annual Passholders may still be required to make a theme park reservation, depending on the date of visit. For example, when visiting a theme park after 2:00PM (with the exception of weekends at Magic Kingdom), Passholders do not need to make a theme park reservation. In addition, Walt Disney World also offers select days when theme park reservations are not required for annual pass holders, known as “good-to-go” days.

But don’t fret, making a theme park reservation is certainly easier than obtaining Galactic Hero status on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin! First, you can visit the availability calendar for Passholder reservations to see whether your desired date of visit is available for the theme park you would like to visit. Next, you will want to make the theme park reservation on the website. If you have a hotel reservation at an eligible Disney Resort or other select hotels, make sure to select that option to not have that reservation count towards the total allotment for theme park reservations (which is currently 5 for both the Disney Sorcerer Pass and Disney Incredi-Pass). Passholders also have the option to cancel or modify theme park reservations at any time, which may come in handy in case your preferred theme park may not be available to book. But even then, you can always hop to another theme park as soon as you enter the theme park for which you have a reservation.

I sure hope this helps, Elizabeth, and I hope you have a wonderful park visit. If you have any other questions, be sure to drop on by, my friends and I here at planDisney are happy to help!
