thnks for the previous answer. i have one more ques.. we are vegetarians( though we eat eggs) and i am having a difficult time looking for options that can serve us our type of food? i need to book a hotel which has restaurants that can serve us? pls help.

    Hi Rachna,

Have no fear!  As a vegetarian, you will not go hungry at Walt Disney World.  In fact, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the many options you'll find.  When you dine at table service restaurants, the chef may be able to prepare a special vegetarian entree for you.  I recommend calling Disney Dining, (407)939-3463, and making them aware of your dietary needs.  However, the chefs at Disney restaurants can often prepare a vegetarian meal with no advance notice -- so don't worry too much if you forget to call ahead.

As far as the best place to say?  Well, I have to recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge or Kidani Village.  These two connected resorts have three excellent table service restaurants with quite a few vegetarian options.  Jiko even has a separate vegetarian menu!

When it comes to counter service options, I've found that many restaurants have at least one vegetarian option - although sometimes it consists of ordering a chicken salad without the meat.  Do you eat cheese and dairy?  If so, your options increase, obviously.  Although I'm not a vegetarian, myself, I do often choose the veggie option on the menu, so I have a few favorite restaurants in each park:

    Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (I like the Asian counter there), Electric Umbrella, Tangierine Cafe
    Hollywood Studios: Backlot Express
Animal Kingdom: we don't usually eat counter service in this park, although we do like to stop for fresh fruit at Harambe Fruit Market.

Hope this helps get you started.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
