We are thinking of going to WDW in mid Sept. Going w/our 3 1/2 year old. Trying to decide btn Contemporary (Garden Wing) and PORiverside. Is being on the monorail worth the $1000 difference in pkg price?

    Hi Anne:

That's a great question, but difficult for me to opine wether the monorail is "worth" the cost difference without knowing your budget or what else you would do with that money.

I vividly remember staying at the Contemporary as a boy around five years old and being mesmerized at the monorail running through the building. Your child may be too young to remember the monorail as he grows up the way I remember it as a young boy. However, there is also a huge convenience in visiting the parks if you stay at a Resort on the monorail line.

A one thousand dollar difference is a pretty big price tag. The good news is that if you say at Riverside, you can always still ride the monorail without having to stay at the Contemporary. You can also spend a tiny portion of that thousand dollars in savings on taxis to help make-up some of the convenience factor you may miss from staying at the Contemporary, plus have a lot of money left over for special experiences like character meals, signature dining, and a return trip to Disney World.
