I am thinking about visiting WDW the week of Dec 18th, which happens to be the release date for Star Wars Episode XII. Being the first Disney made Star Wars movie, are there any special plans for the movies debut?

I sense the Force is strong with you Chris...
In my opinion taking ewok on the dark side and planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort this coming December during the scheduled date of the release of what is 2015's most anticipated movie premier - Star Wars VII is such a galactically great idea!
As Yoda might say, "Aware I am not of any special plans".  However, what I can tell for sure is that only the Jedi Masters at The Disney Parks Blog know what future announcements lay ahead for us Padawans.
As a Star Wars fan I'm sure you'll be already aware of Star Wars Weekends which are typically held during the months of May and June; they're super fun for all Obi-wannabes
May the Force be with you.
