Hello, Andrew! I am so glad you popped by planDisney with this question as you plan for your upcoming trip to this side of the pond.
Low crowds? Cooler nighttime skies? Snacks? All in the magic of
Walt Disney World Resort? I will say "yes, please" to those questions every chance I get. I have enjoyed
Disney After Hours events that were available during my vacations to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I've also been lucky to be on work trips to Orlando when these events were happening. It was such a treat to have a night in the magic, which I might not have done if I had had to purchase a full-day ticket.
It looks like there is a
Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park on May 13, just in time for your trip. While Walt Disney World has transportation available from the park to the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, you would need to arrange a ride back to your hotel on International Drive.
Luckily, there are options.
On my Orlando work trip, I used the rideshare Lyft. If you typically use Uber, this works as well. Rideshare pickup is available at the Transportation and Ticket Center (affectionately called the TTC). When the After Hours event is over, you can take the
Disney Monorail from
Magic Kingdom Park to the TTC. Follow the signs to Rideshare, and you can request and pick up your transportation there.
I hope you can work this into your plans. There is nothing like Magic Kingdom Park at night, with all the lights illuminating your path, the smell of popcorn wafting in the air, and everyone around energized by being there and enjoying it all.
Please come back by
planDisney with any other questions. You've got a friend in us!
Reach for the Sky!
