Welcome Claudine! Sounds like you have a fun trip in mind before your college girl heads back to class. There are so many great things for teens to do at Walt Disney World!
January is one of the best times to visit when it comes to crowds, but crowd levels do pop a bit for the Walt Disney World Marathon during the second weekend of the month, and the weekend of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. We've been in the parks on both of these occasions, though, and found crowds were pretty manageable.
I'm a Florida girl, so I can definitely talk weather! We can actually dip as low as the 30s, or soar as high as 80s. For the most part the weather is pretty moderate - you'll almost never see anything below freezing - so just check the forecast before you come, plan to dress in layers, and you'll be prepared for anything.
Your teens will probably appreciate the thrill rides in the parks, like
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, or
Test Track. If they like shopping, they'll love the new Marketplace Co-Op at
Downtown Disney. I visited recently for the first time, and it was amazing. Cool gadgets, great bags, fun clothes, all in a fun, funky atmosphere.
My fellow panelists have
lots more ideas for teens, too, if you'd like to check them out. Claudine, I know your teens will find their fun at Walt Disney World. Hope you have a blast!
