We are thinking of visiting Disney World for the first time with our 1.5 year old in September. What are the two best parks to visit with a toddler? What attractions can they ride/experience? Any other tips for visiting with a child this age?

    Howdy Marissa!

Welcome to planDisney!  I am so happy to answer your questions!  To visit the Walt Disney World Resort with a little Mouseketeer is the best!  I love watching their little eyes fill with excitement as they experience “The Magic of Disney!”  Get ready to “Make Dreams to Last a Lifetime!”  Oh boy!  Let’s start planning!

We brought our little Mouseketeers at about the one-year mark, and those were vacations I will never forget!  I think their favorite theme parks were the Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.  At both of these theme parks, your little Mouseketeer will be able to do almost everything!  These theme parks are packed with attractions and activities that are perfect for your little adventurer!  The Magic Kingdom Park will keep you busy with your Mouseketeer enjoying attraction after attraction!  I recommend picking five to ten must-dos for your visit to the Magic Kingdom Park, so your little Mouseketeer does not get tired and overwhelmed.  If you are staying at one of the Disney Resorts Collection Hotels, I recommend taking a break to go back to your resort hotel to relax and maybe enjoy a dip in the pool!  Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has plenty to do to keep your little adventurer busy!  This is the perfect fun-filled day, especially if your little Mouseketeer enjoys a fun outdoor adventure!  One of my favorite tips is to bring activities, toys, snacks, or something you know your little adventurer will enjoy doing while you wait in line.  Keeping your Mouseketeer engaged in something while you wait to enjoy an attraction will make the actual attraction experience so much more enjoyable!

Since this is your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with your Mouseketeer, I recommend adding Memory Maker to your vacation.  With Memory Maker, you will not have to worry about trying to capture photos!  Disney PhotoPass Photographers throughout the Walt Disney World Resort are waiting to take a picture of you with your Mouseketeer!  They will take an unlimited amount of photos at one great price!  I love this feature because I do not have to worry about always being behind the camera.  With Memory Maker, everyone can be in the photo, and all of your photos will be downloaded to your My Disney Experience for you to take home to cherish forever!

If you have any more questions as you continue to plan this unforgettable vacation, please come back to planDisney!  We are always here to help you with all your planning questions, Marissa!
