Thinking of tent camping last week of Nov. Can anyone give pros/cons? Going with DH, DS (9), DD (8 & 5), and my mom who needs to be close to bus stop, comfort station, etc. Loop suggestions?

Hi Melissa! Fort Wilderness is often our Disney home for vacations since we like to bring the four legged members of our family. We drive our bus down and live there for as long as we can before heading back to reality.

We have not actually tent camped there but I am familiar with the loops. Loop 2000 is held strictly for tents and small pop ups. It is a large loop and they have two comfort stations located on each end. You will have water and electric hook ups at each site. They come with a picnic table and grill. They are level and fairly large so you are not feeling like you are right on top of the neighboring tents. Loop 1500 can also be used for tents when needed. When you call for a reservation you can request that loop as it is close to the bus stop. Loop 2000 can be quite a hike if you are at the far end. Many tenters use their cars for transportation to and from the parks. Also request a site close to a comfort station for your mother's convenience.

Pros to camping at Disney are many. It is by far the least expensive way to stay at a resort and you still have all the amenities of a regular resort room guest. You will be issued a key as if you had a room and you can put your park tickets on this and use it to charge to your account. The comfort stations are incredibly clean and have showers and laundry facilities for your use. Fort Wilderness is extremely clean and your site will be one of the best compared to any campground. If there is any sort of issue that something doesn't work Disney will be right on it to get it fixed quick.

The cons can be weather as there is nothing worse then camping in the heat. But your date should find awesome temps with cool mornings and nights. Noise sometimes can be a con but Disney does regulate quiet hours. Some loops are far from the bus stop but you can use your car if needed.

Hope this helps....could share so much more!
