We are thinking of taking my son on his first trip when he's 2. Are there usually deals offered in April? And do you think 4 1/2 days with a 2 year old is too short? I know we won't be able to do everything but I still want it to be worth it!

    Hi Jamie!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

We really don't know what discounts Disney will offer until they are official.  However, to give you a feel of what discounts Disney has offered in the past and when, I suggest visiting the independent website MouseSavers.com.  At Mouse Savers you can find a historical database of Disney discounts.  Just remember that just because Disney released a discount in past years, there is no guarantee that it will do so in the future.  While you are at Mouse Savers, be sure to look at its other money saving strategies and tips!

With regards to the number of days, there is no doubt that you can do more with more days.  However, I think 4 and a half days is fine.  With regards to his height, most of the attractions at Walt Disney World do not have a height requirement.  Most of the attractions were designed to be enjoyed by the entire family.  I realize that may sound strange if your only experience is with regional amusement parks, but it is true!

By the way, if this is your first trip, I recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information, but is not overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book, full of color photographs.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
