    Thinking about taking DDs 2and 10 with hubby on Haunted Carriage Ride. Is it worth the $$? What time is best to get reservation for? Is there time to do Chip and Ale campfire too? Have ADR at Trails End for 4:35. Thanks!

    Hi Sara,

    Our family had dinner at Trail's End Restaurant followed by a Haunted Carriage ride last October.

    The carriage ride was fun although I did expect a bit more in the way of "special effects" and visual displays. For a 25-minute carriage ride (plus a tip for the driver), I'm not certain that I'd pay to do it again.

    Carriage rides begin at 7:30 p.m. After our meal, we walked around outdoors and watched the ponies before it was time for our carriage ride.

    Chip and Dale's Campfire Sing-Along typically begins at  7 p.m. in the fall and winter months.

    You may want to go to the campfire first (and leave before the movie begins), then schedule your Haunted Carriage ride for 8:30.

    Whatever you decide, an evening at Fort Wilderness is a great diversion!
