We are thinking about surprising our kids by taking them to DW for Christmas. We are looking at being there Dec 20-26. I've heard the week b/w Cmas and New Years is crazy busy. Would this time be as busy?

Hello Sarah!  It makes me so happy to see you are considering planning a Christmas trip to Walt Disney World.  Believe it or not, it is my family's favorite time to visit.  In fact, we've spent the past several Christmases there.

The last two years, my travel dates have almost looked the exact same.  I wont sugar coat it - it is busy but at the same time it is wonderful and full of holiday cheer.  Toward the start of the trip, the 20th, 21st..., the crowds are manageable but there is a steady flow of people.  As each day passes and it gets closer to Christmas, you can tell it's getting more and more crowded.  Christmas Day, one of the busiest days of the year, will often fill to capacity in the late morning at Magic Kingdom.

So yes, it is a very busy time of year to visit but it is also one of the most special.  I cannot tell you how much fun we have, even with the crowds.  It's such a memory!  With a little planning, you can still have a fantastic vacation with your family.

If you do decide to go, I'd love to help you plan!  You can visit me anytime and ask your questions.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
