Hi Laura,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. First and foremost: congratulations on 20 magical yEARs of marriage!
We recently took our children on another wonderful Walt Disney World vacation to celebrate their birthdays, and we surprised them with the
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. We loved it, and I would absolutely do it again. We felt like total VIPs wearing our lanyards and loved having our own section of the Star Wars Launch Bay to chow down on delicious Star Wars themed desserts. The Galactic Punch and Light Speed Margarita were space-tacular cocktails, and there were also soft drinks, non-alcoholic punch options, and coffee and tea. Standouts for us on the dessert spread include the BB-8 lemon cupcakes and the awesome freeze-dried ice cream station. The cheese and fruit "lightsaber" skewers were fun palate cleansers. There are lots of delicious options to sample on the buffet.
My family loved the front-and-center location for the fireworks viewing. On the night we attended, everyone stayed seated on the ground for both Disney Movie Magic and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, which was comfortable and allowed us to have an amazing view of the whole show. I just love both shows; they are so moving and the technology is truly spectacular.
I hope you have an absolutely fantastic anniversary trip, Laura. Be sure to wear your celebration buttons (pick them up at your resort or Guest Relations)! It might be fun to make or purchase some special t-shirts to add some pixie dust to your celebration – I’ve seen some fantastic Star Wars themed ones, including shirts featuring the iconic “I Love You” and “I Know” Leia and Han quotes. Have fun, and may the force be with your magical celebration!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
