I am thinking about surprising my family with a trip to disney world for christmas. I'm thinking Dec. 28th- Jan 4th. Is it busy then and what is the weather like?

    Hi Monica,

I love surprises, and this would be a great one!  In all honesty, I say go for the Christmas surprise...but make them wait a week.  The days between the Christmas and New Years holidays are by far the busiest I've ever seen - meaning that wait times can be upwards of two hours and the parks often close the gates because they reach capacity.  If you can wait until after the New Year, not only will you see the crowds diminish drastically, so will the rates - which is a win-win in my book!

The weather won't vary much between the end of December and early to mid-January but you can expect just about anything from nice 70-80 degree days as well as freezing temperatures.  Personally I love January because I can wear jeans and a sweatshirt, but the sun still feels warm on my face.  My kids will swim as long as there isn't snow on the ground, but I prefer the warmer months if I plan on enjoying the pool.

I hope this helps, good luck with your decision!
