I am thinking of staying at the Swan or Dolphin hotel I have previously only stayed at Disney hotels - I understand that I can purchase my own magic band for tickets and fast passes - can I also use it for in park purchases?

Hi Sara! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am happy to assist with your vacation planning.

I have stayed multiple times at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel as I enjoy their location in the Epcot Resort Area and deluxe amenities. In addition, I appreciate the Walt Disney World onsite benefits you are entitled to as a guest of these resorts. As a guest of either of these properties, you are eligible for Extra Magic Hours, 60 day advance FastPass+ selection, complimentary parking at Walt Disney World theme parks, and resort to theme park bus and watercraft transportation. While you are able to purchase a MagicBand for theme park admission and FastPass+ use, you will not have charging privileges.

Sara, if using a MagicBand for purchases is important to you, and you are a fan of the Epcot Resort Area like me, be sure to look into special offers for stays at a Walt Disney World Resort. You might find something works for your vacation! In addition to in-park charging abilities, adding a Disney Dining Plan and Disney's Magical Express® airport transportation to your reservation are two more benefits exclusive to guests of onsite Walt Disney World owned resort hotels.

Best wishes as you continue to plan your adventure to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
