we are thinking of staying at a off property resort on Lake Buena Vista as we are a party of 5. what is the best way to get to get to the resorts?, rental car?

Welcome to planDisney, Terri! I'm so glad that I get to answer your question today. The springtime is a beautiful time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort, so I'm excited to hear that you're planning a trip next May! Where you're staying is a big part of your trip, so I'm happy to chat with you about transportation to and from your hotel.

Terri, the best way to get to and from the Theme Parks if you're not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel is by driving yourself. Since your party consists of five guests, you're a few too many to fit inside of a conventional rideshare vehicle so renting your own car would likely be more efficient and a little bit cheaper. Your hotel may have bus transportation available to and from the Theme Parks running at certain times of the day, so you might want to check with them to see if they can provide you a schedule for the time you're visiting. Driving around the Most Magical Place On Earth is very easy, with lots of signage to point you in the right direction to park your car. Once you are on Walt Disney World Resort property, you are absolutely welcome to use the bus, monorail, and water transportation or take a ride on the Disney Skyliner! All of those forms of transportation are complimentary for all guests, and that includes you.

I hope this answers your question, Terri, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
