Thinking about staying at Fort Wilderness, camping in a tent. Have any of you done this? What were your experiences and did you have toddlers with you. We will have 2 under the age of 4. How did the children do in your experience?

    Hi Lyndsay!

Fort Wilderness is a wonderful resort to camp in.  There are a lot of services and amenities and as a person who has camped throughout Maryland, it is one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever been in.  The restrooms and showers are wonderful and very clean.  Be sure to make a breakfast reservation and a dinner reservation for Trail's End, one of the best values in all of Walt Disney World.  I also suggest making a reservation for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue; I think your children will enjoy it if they are closer in age to 4.

It is hard to answer the question about whether your children will enjoy camping or not.  It has been my experience with scouting that a lot of children of that age do indeed enjoy the experience especially if the parents enjoy camping.  I will say that Fort Wilderness is a great place to try it if you or they have never done it before.  I just don't know if I would recommend camping in the summer as it can be very hot and humid in Central Florida in the summer and there are a lot of afternoon rainstorms in the summer though they typically don't last long.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
