Thinking about staying at contemporary resort in Sept.. Heard it can be a noisy place to stay. What is the best floor in the tower for being the quietest? How crowded is the resort the week after labor day? Will the monorail or elevators be crowded?

Hi, Ginny! The Contemporary reminds me of a sleek, modern city center of the future with the monorail running through the middle of the main tower and the wonderful dining and shopping options available on the concourse level. Yet surprisingly, I continue to be amazed at how little the sound carries once you're in a guest room. Of course, the higher your floor level the more removed you are from the action below. The monorail is quiet (even in the wee hours of the morning), and the fun and hoopla of Chef Mickey's don't carry unless you are peering over the banister to catch a glimpse of what's going on down there. My suggestion is to request a higher  floor (anything above the 4th floor) and the side away from Chef Mickey's.

As for the week after Labor Day, the crowd levels usually don't peak at WDW then. Yet, there really is no way to know for any given resort what you will experience for that week. I will say that the elevators are not the fastest in the World, and I have found myself waiting for them more than I'd like at The Contemporary. For our family, we like to walk to the Magic Kingdom and thereby avoiding the lines for the monorail -- especially since you have to take the loop all the way around. (It's faster to walk!) However, we love that The Contemporary is the first stop on the way back -- when you are the most tired.

Hopefully, I've provided you with some information and encouragement you can use to plan your trip. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
