We are thinking about staying at Animal Kingdom with savannah view the last week in January. I know the temps in Florida are cooler that time of year...does that affect the animals at all? Do you find they are out more during the hotter month?

    Hi Kristina,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Staying at a savannah view room at Animal Kingdom Lodge is on my to-do list.  I've done quite a bit of research on this topic and have discovered that January and February are ideal times to visit Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge!  The reasoning is because the animals are most active during cooler temperatures.  This means that early mornings and the cooler months of the year provide the most opportunity for viewing the animals when they are active.

This past year my husband and I visited the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a meal in January and found this information to be true.  After our meal we spent some time outside viewing the animals near Arusha Rock and relaxing at Ogun's Firepit.  We had an opportunity to visit with a Cast Member there who confirmed for us that the animals are most active when it is cooler.

I think choosing Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for accommodations on your next vacation is a superb idea.  As you continue to make your plans, please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with all of your vacation planning questions.  We love to help!

    Blessings,
