We are thinking about staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Is it worth it to stay there is we just have a standard and not a savannah view room? Also, we are deciding bet. the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside. Any recommendations either way?

    HI Alyssa,

The rooms at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are all wonderfully themed and very exotic.  Sure, the savanna view is fantastic, however, how much time do you really spend in the room?  If you are like our family, not too much.  The resort has so much to offer!  The pools are amazing and so beautiful.  You can also take the quick bus to Kidani Village and play in the Uwanja Camp.  This children's play area has elevated rope bridges, geyser jets, and a waterfall lagoon.  There are three different interactive water-play areas for kids of all ages.  The dining is fantastic as well.  There are four different restaurants on property with three of them being at Jambo House and one at Kidani Village.  Cast Members from Africa will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the resort and their culture.  Plus anywhere from the resort, you can look out the windows and see animals such as giraffe, zebra, Ankole cattle, and Thompson's gazelles. There is something so magical about seeing all the animals just grazing on the savanna around the resort.  My family has stayed at both Port Orleans Riverside and also Animal Kingdom.   Although, we really like Port Orleans (it is one of our favorite moderate resorts), I would recommend you trying to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Please let me know if I can help you further, Alyssa.
