Thank you for your question, my fellow Lynne!!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has been my family’s favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel since the day it opened. What I love most is the overall vibe that surrounds you the moment you walk through its doors. It’s such a warm and welcoming atmosphere - it really feels like an entirely different world.
We’ve stayed in both Savanna View and Standard View rooms and the choice really depends on your family’s priorities and budget. My family likes to go “home” to the Lodge for a bit of a respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks in the middle of the day. Because of this, we prefer to splurge on a Savanna View room. While my son naps, I sit our balcony with a cold drink and a book and just enjoy my personal moment of Zen! We’ve also stayed in a Standard View room and, while the view from our balcony was different, our stay at the Lodge was still magical. I wouldn’t say that having a Standard View room was a deal-breaker, especially if you don’t plan on spending time in your Resort during the day.
As for the pools, both the
Uzima Pool at Jambo House and Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village are large zero-entry pools that are great for all ages and abilities. If I remember correctly, their maximum depth is around 4 feet. The pool area at Kidani Village was recently refurbished to include a new water playground called Uwanja Camp. We haven’t had a chance to see it yet, but I’m dying to splash around and play there with my son during our next visit.
Have fun planning and have a Magical Day!
Lynne
