Thinking about a stay at the Grand Floridian, but my hesitation is transportation to EPCOT. Taking the monorail all the way to the TTC and then switching to the EPCOT monorail seems long. What’s the walk like from the GF through the Poly to the TTC?

    Hi Jim,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm thrilled you are considering one of my favorite Resort Hotels, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, for your next visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I will admit that I was concerned about how family-friendly the resort would be since it's SUCH a beautiful property. My children were both young when we visited Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa the first time and we had the time of our lives. While beautiful, the resort has a slower pace and friendly atmosphere. We truly feel like we are able to completely relax. We like to try new-to-us Resort Hotels but we frequently return to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

You can walk to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and continue on to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The walk is incredibly pretty. You pass by the dreamy Wedding Pavilion and through the tropical paradise at Disney's Polynesian Resort Hotel during the walk. Depending on your starting point and your walking pace, the walk from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the Transportation and Ticket Center will take you from around 25 to 35 minutes.

If you're planning to visit EPCOT, I think it's much quicker and, depending upon the ages of your traveling party, easier to take the Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center then transfer to the EPCOT line. You may have to wait a few minutes for the Monorail but once underway it will only take 5-10 minutes to reach the Transportation and Ticket Center. You can quickly transfer to the EPCOT Monorail and be on your way for a day of adventure.

Jim, thank you for stopping back by to ask another great question. I hope you will let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions before your visit!
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
