We are thinking of signing up our son to run a kids race at the Wine and Dine. How early do we have to be there for the kids race and how long will we be there total? We have to plan time to be off our feet for our race at 10:00 that night too.

Hi Ashley!  I totally understand!  I like to take a nice afternoon nap before the Wine and Dine.  You definitely need to rest up for the after-party!  (oh, and the race too!)
You should plan to be at the Kid's Races about an hour before they begin (so 9 a.m.).  There is a DJ there playing fun music and leading the kids in a "warm up" and dances.   It is really fun for everyone.  Depending on which race your son runs, you should be finished no later than 11:30 a.m.  The races are run very efficiently.  You could be back to your resort by around 1 p.m. to begin your resting!
The Wine and Dine is my favorite runDisney event!  I hope you have a great race, and please let me know if I can help you with any other questions!
