Hi Amy, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You're thinking about taking an incredible voyage on the
11-Night Westbound Transatlantic Cruise from Dover to New York as your first Disney Cruise! I love that you and your family of adventurers are considering a longer sailing. We love taking Disney Cruises longer than seven nights. In fact, we celebrated our honeymoon on a 14-Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise aboard the Disney Magic!
Choosing the location of our stateroom is one of my favorite steps in the planning process. During our transatlantic voyage, we found the motion of the ocean to be more noticeable while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Since this will be your first cruise, I recommend choosing a stateroom midship; in my opinion, you'll feel less rocking motion (if there is any) and be close to all the action on and around the ship! We enjoy staying in the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah but honestly, every stateroom category onboard has something magical that sets it apart from all the others! No matter which you choose, you'll quickly think of it as your home away from home.
My biggest tip for first-time cruisers is to begin booking all of your Port Adventures and onboard activities as soon as your
advance booking window opens! Another tip is to try not to overpack by utilizing the laundry facilities onboard. Disney Cruise Line allows two pieces of luggage per person but for a family of four, storing eight pieces of luggage in your stateroom might get a little tricky.
I'm so excited for you and your family! If you have any questions, please come back and visit us again! We're here to help you navigate through the planning process!
