We are thinking about a return trip to DW. We thought it might be fun to spend next Chistmas or to return in Oct. We have a 10 year old and will be bringing grandparents. We went in October of last year and liked having fewer lines. Any reccomendations?

    Hi Greg,
Great question! The good news for you is that you are planning to go back either way, so everything else is gravy. I have been to Walt Disney World the most during the month of October, so I can relate to your thinking. I love Walt Disney World in October! However, I have also been for Christmas and it is just beautiful. If dodging the crowds is a primary objective, then definitely plan for October. Although I must admit that October has become a way busier time of year than it was just a few short years ago, it is nowhere near as crowded as Christmas week. October's increase is partly due to the fact that a lot of European guests travel "on holiday" during this month. This also gives the parks a definite international flair. The weather can also still be a bit warm but is generally gorgeous, as you have already experienced. Anyway, the parks are all decked out for Halloween, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a fun night out in the Magic Kingdom. Keep in mind that resort prices can also be quite a bit less in October versus December as October is not considered "Peak Season" or "Holiday Season". As magical as Christmas in the parks would be, unless you feel that Christmas with the Mouse is a must, I would stick with planning for a return visit in October. Just don't forget the costumes! Enjoy your return trip!
