Hello, we are thinking about rescheduling our Disney World trip from October to the week of Thanksgiving this year and my concern is will it be unbearably crowded during this time? My husband is really wanting to see the Christmas decorations which is why.

    Hi Carrie:

I've enjoyed Disney World during Thanksgiving week before, and my family plans to spend Thanksgiving week at Disney World again this year.  The Parks and Resorts generally start being decorated for Christmas and the Holidays during the first week of November, with the Parks generally fully decorated by Thanksgiving.

Disney World tends to be less crowded when schools are in session, so you will see a lot more crowds during Thanksgiving week (particularly Thursday through Sunday) than you would in October.  I wouldn't call the crowds "unbearable" during Thanksgiving week, but they will be more noticeable.  If you are able to make your trip the week before Thanksgiving, or the week after Thanksgiving into mid-December, you can enjoy both lighter crowds and a Holiday-themed Parks and Resorts.

My gut tells me to stick with October or try to move your vacation to early December.  But if Thanksgiving week is the only option for you and your husband to see the Parks during the Holidays, and your husband really really wants to enjoy the Park during Holiday season, then just be prepared for heavier crowds.

    Enjoy your vacation.
