Hiya Tim!
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for submitting your question today! As a camper lover myself, I am so excited that you have decided to try renting an RV for your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and I am thrilled to be answering your question today. Staying in an RV gives you such a unique experience as you truly get the feeling that you are out in the wild camping while also being minutes away from the theme parks. My favourite part about staying in an RV was definitely the camaraderie that grows between campers, especially during Halloween or Christmas! Campgrounds become lit up with decorations and the Resort becomes an attraction itself.
Tim, you are a pro! You are correct that you can rent your RV and even have it delivered at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! It is important to note that RV reservations are not made directly through Disney but instead through Luxurious RV Rentals LLC or Meacham's RV Rental. You can contact each of them by phone at
(800) 561-8538 and (941) 224-4939 respectively, or look through their websites for more information. Also, you will need to look through the
different types of campsites and reserve one that best fits your needs. Then, you can have your RV delivered directly to your Resort so that you can simply enjoy the wilderness right upon your arrival. These RVs will provide you with some of the same amenities you would receive as a Resort Guest, and you will also be able to use complimentary Resort transportation. You will also be able to use RV amenities such as electricity and water while at your campsite and have access to complimentary Resort wifi. In addition, I would highly recommend looking into
the many activities available and checking out the Recreational Devices that are also available for rent at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I did not think I would need them during my stay, but due to the size of the Resort, golf carts really proved to be lifesavers!
As for your park tickets, you may also purchase your tickets through a different provider. Just make sure to
link your tickets to your
My Disney Experience account once you receive the tickets' bar code. Once the tickets are linked, you will be able to
make theme park reservations, which are currently required to enter the theme parks. With Resort buses and water taxis only a few minutes away from your campsite, you'll be all set to enjoy the theme parks!
Tim, I hope this was helpful and that you have an absolutely wild time on your upcoming Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please feel free to reach out. You've got an RV friend in me!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
