Thinking of planning a WDW vacation the week after thanksgiving 2018. Will Toy Story land be open by then? What are the crowds like last week of Nov, first week of Dec. Thanks

    Hey-Howdy-Hey, Kimberly!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question - you've got a friend in me!

I'm super excited about the newest land coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Land! This new land will allow Guests to feel as though they've shrunk to the size of a toy to explore the world of Andy's backyard. With two awesome new attractions (a family-friendly Slinky Dog roller coaster and an spinning Alien Saucers attraction), it's going to be an amazing addition to the park! While there's no "official" opening date as of yet, my fingers are crossed that an announcement will be coming soon! Disney fans are hoping for some updated news to come from the D23 Expo, the Ultimate Disney Fan Event, that will be happening in mid-July. I encourage you to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog, and also to follow Walt Disney World on Twitter for the most up-to-date information and news regarding Toy Story Land.

Crowd levels at Walt Disney World Resort are typically high during the week of Thanksgiving, then tend to slack off as schools are back in session the following week. The first weeks of December tend to have lower crowd levels, increasing each week as the holidays get closer. I think you've chosen a great week for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation in 2018, and we're here to answer any questions you may think of as you plan your magical visit.

I hope this helps with your planning. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
