Hi Kaitlyn,
Thank you for dropping by planDisney to get some advice on planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!
I am so happy to see you starting to plan early. First, keep an eye on the
Special Offers so that you can see when discounts are released that might be applicable to your dates. Second, review the
Disney Resorts Collection so that you can decide on a few resort hotel possibilities. My family prefers resort hotels with multiple dining and transportation options.
A few of our favorites include Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Both of these resorts have walking paths to Magic Kingdom and they have access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation. When we have been on a tighter budget, we stayed at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. I also adore Disney's Pop Century Resort because it has access to the
Disney Skyliner. With the size of your family, you may want to try the Treehouse Villas at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa or a bungalow at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Some resorts in the Disney Resorts Collection also have 2 Bedroom Villas that might also be an option.
When you have decided on your dates, you can compare
vacation package pricing across different resort hotels. Select the
type of theme park tickets and number of ticket days you want. When you book a vacation package, you will select the resort hotel and theme park tickets. Consider leaving at least one day of your trip as a non park day where you can hang at the pool and perhaps visit
Disney Springs.
Kaitlyn, start pricing your vacation package now. If a Special Offer is released that covers your dates, you can then compare the new rates with ones you had previously searched. I also like to price our vacations early so that we put down a deposit and start saving money. At some point, you will need to also start planning for
advanced dining reservations. Currently, the
booking window should open 60-days prior to your arrival date!
I hope this helps you get started!Magic and memories,
Donyell
