Hello! I am thinking about planning a trip to Disney for Thanksgiving 2013. I was curious if Disney for Thanksgiving is a good idea or if we should wait until the day after. I appreciate any additional info you could provide! Thank you!

    Hello, Angela!

We've spent a magical day in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day and while it was a bit more crowded than it would have been on a different day, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I like to get an idea of what crowd levels may look like from the unofficial site touringplans.com.  Go there and take a look at this year's crowd levels around Thanksgiving for an idea of what next year might look like, too. If you take a look at the crowd predictions for this year's Thanksgiving Day and the next day as well, you'll see that the overall crowd level is about the same for both days: 10 out of 10. That being said, we really had a spectacular, traditional Thanksgiving meal at Cinderella's Royal Table, which was extra-magical because of the excitement of the holiday itself. (I also really enjoyed two aspects of that Thanksgiving: it's the only one I haven't had to either cook or clean up, and my friend's daughter, who isn't a fan of turkey, could order something entirely different with no trouble whatsoever. Win-win!)

Take a look, too, at one of my favorite unofficial sites, allears.net, for reader comments about Thanksgiving at WDW. Just click on "search" and enter "Thanksgiving" for links to reviews and articles about Guests' favorite Thanksgiving Holiday memories and traditions in Walt Disney World!

Have fun planning! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, too! I'd love to help!
