Thinking about Mickey's not so scary Halloween in September. Is a Tuesday or Thursday date better, or should I be looking at a weekend?

Boo to you, Brian! Thanks for bringing your spooktacular question to us here at planDisney. When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, that can only mean one thing: it's spooky season at Walt Disney World Resort! Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the signature fall events on property, and you will have a frighteningly fun experience no matter which day you choose to attend. I've thrown on my costume and grabbed my trick or treat bag to get in the "spirit" and answer your question!

I attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Friday, September 19th last year and had a ghoulishly good time. I loved the Halloween overlays on the attractions, enjoyed Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, and was amazed by the Cadaver Dans bone-chilling performance. Since I could enter the park as early as 4PM, I was able to knock out some of my must-do attractions and snacks before the party officially began at 7PM. Even though I attended on a Friday, it didn't feel like the park was super crowded. I was able to see all of the shows, enjoy a reservation at the Beak & Barrel, and secure so much candy that even King Candy himself would be envious!

If you're torn between attending on a Tuesday or Thursday night, I suggest you pick the date that better fits the rest of your vacation plans that week. All party dates have sold out in the recent past, and it's likely that they will all sell out for 2026 as well. Choosing between two sold-out dates shouldn't weigh too heavily in your decision making, so consider what other activities and reservations you want to make for your trip and plan them around your party date. The silver lining is that the party is a hard-ticketed, capacity limited event, so you will enjoy lower crowds than a typical park day at Magic Kingdom during the event hours.

The Disney Parks Blog published a preview of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party just a few days ago, so consider that your Halloween HQ for all things creepy and crawly around Disney World this fall! If you're looking for more spell-binding suggestions for your Halloween time visit, just know I'll be here waiting to lend a hand.

    Hurry back, hurry back!
