I was thinking about getting Visa Gift Cards for my family's trip to Disney World. So I don't have to worry about getting into my wallet when we are there. Does all Disney shops except Visa.Gift Cards? Thank you

Brenda, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am big on budgeting, so my family brings Disney gift cards on vacation with us when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. We mainly purchase them for my children so they have a set souvenir budget. They then have a set amount to spend and can keep track of their own balances, as the remaining balance prints out on the receipt each time they use the cards. My boys have used their gift cards at each Theme Park and in the Downtown Disney area. We have had a bit of problems in the past in the Downtown Disney area at stores that are non-Disney merchants, as they use a separate system to process the gift cards. Each time we asked them to hold on to our purchases and we came back at a later time to complete the transaction. This is very rare, it has only happened to us twice in the several times we have visited over the years.

A little money saving tip for you - you can purchase the gift cards at Target using your Red Card and save 5%! It isn't much but every little bit sure helps.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Brenda!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
